Bali Start-up

Interesting article from CNBC regarding the Bali start-up scene. Looks great for early stage business although I’m not sure many businesses will stay there after they develop. The Indonesian legal and tax issues aren’t yet attractive for entrepreneurs and I would assume that access to a deep pool of infrastructure for start-ups is not yet available although I am for sure going to check it out next time I go and hope to be proved wrong.

For an international, mobile, tech idea, a Bali start-up with surf, sand, sun would be fun whilst it lasts. Then maybe move on to Singapore or Hong Kong where the infrastructure, people, and laws are in place for healthy growth. You might then be a little less distracted by the daily swell reports, but still be just a short flight away so you can scratch the itch every now and then.
