We provide valuations for SME’s from US$1m to US$100m for internal purposes or for companies looking to buy or sell. Often these businesses do not have close comparable companies and therefore need particular skills. It is certainly as much art as science.

Valuations may be for different purpose but generally a small business wants to know what it is worth in order to sell the business. Other purposes maybe for buying a business or merging businesses. There are highly technical ways to value a business, generally the ‘discounted cash flow’ method and simpler ways, which could be a market comparison, although for SME’s there are not often a lot of close comparable transactions as there are for listed companies.
